Description
Founded in 1986, Deaf Australia is the leading national body representing D/deaf and hard of hearing individuals who use Auslan, as well as other individuals who use Auslan as a preferred language. Deaf Australia's main focus is to improve Auslan users' access to information and accessible communications.
Deaf Australia provides systemic advice to governments, industries, and service providers about the needs and views of D/deaf and hard of hearing Auslan users, to promote their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
